I. Overview

With the continuous progress of society, in recent years, the construction industry in China has developed rapidly, and along with this, issues such as construction safety and site supervision have gradually attracted widespread attention from all sectors of society and government departments. The concept of safe production has become deeply rooted in people's minds, and people's requirements for safe production have also become increasingly higher. In the construction industry where accidents occur frequently, how to ensure the personal safety of construction workers and the protection of property such as construction materials and equipment at the construction site has become the top concern for construction units. Due to the limitations of the construction environment, the inadequate safety management of equipment and materials and the weak self-protection awareness of some employees have provided opportunities for criminals. To further improve the safety management of construction sites, introducing monitoring technology to the construction site has become the first choice for many construction units. Considering various factors, the wireless video monitoring technology that uses microwaves instead of optical fibers has been widely adopted by many construction engineering companies, thanks to its advantages such as high flexibility, strong scalability, and simple maintenance.

II. The Necessity of Site Monitoring at Each Stage

1. Monitoring during the foundation and base stage. Deep foundation pit support, foundation trench excavation, and manual bored pile construction have all been included in the special governance scope. Therefore, the construction during this stage has been designated as the focus of monitoring.

2. Monitoring during the ground and floor construction phase. When the construction progresses to the ground and floor stage, the building area is open on all sides, the working surface is wide, there are many construction personnel, and various sub-projects often involve cross-operation. Therefore, all safety precautions and quality requirements must be carefully considered. To this end, the system should set multiple monitoring priorities, such as the following key monitoring contents: foundation inspection, concrete transportation, pouring, curing, formwork installation (the "two overages and one large" formwork support deformation), steel bar installation and binding, concrete pouring, wearing of safety helmets and safety belts by construction personnel, setting of safety nets for the building, protection at stairwell, elevator well, well opening, reserved holes, pit and well openings, balcony, floor, roof, etc., as well as edge protection and edge protection for work areas. The time, content, standards and monitoring methods can all be set according to the needs of the staff.

3. Monitoring of high-altitude operations. Considering the characteristics of high-altitude operations, multiple monitoring points can be set up, such as the installation of safety nets in buildings, the provision of edge protection for construction workers during operations, the wearing of safety helmets by construction workers, the erection of external scaffolding and floor bamboo scaffolding, the fixation and use of guy ropes, the installation and use of hoists, the installation and operation of hoist platforms and floor discharge platforms, the installation and operation of tower cranes and hoists, etc.

4. To enhance the management of civilized construction at construction sites, the monitoring system can currently be specifically configured to focus on key monitoring areas of civilized construction at the sites. The main contents include: site fences, material storage, temporary buildings on the site, fire prevention, theft prevention, and the setting of construction signs, etc. The purpose is to strengthen safety management.

III. Demand Analysis

The construction site of the Zhongda Fu Building in Shenzhen hopes to implement a safety prevention management system to conduct 24-hour real-time monitoring of all major construction sites within its jurisdiction through wireless network video transmission. Based on the project's initial requirements, 18 monitoring points will be set up, with 1 video surveillance channel at each point. The images should have high-definition quality. Among them, 17 are installed along the perimeter walls of the construction site, and one is a dome camera installed on a tower crane. The cameras at the perimeter monitoring points use wireless cameras, and the amount of data transmitted through the wireless network is large, so high-bandwidth wireless transmission equipment is required.

IV. Scheme Introduction

It is well known that the biggest challenge in implementing video surveillance at construction sites is that due to the influence of the on-site environment, it is often impossible to transmit video signals back to the monitoring center using traditional monitoring transmission methods. However, using the wireless transmission technology of Deepfang Technology is undoubtedly the best solution to the problem of transmitting video surveillance signals at construction sites. Moreover, it can also meet the demand for mobile video surveillance on the construction site.

Key points of system design:

Monitoring during the foundation and base stage. Deep foundation pit support, foundation trench excavation and manual bored pile construction have been included in the special governance content. Therefore, the construction during this stage has been regarded as the focus of monitoring. Monitoring during the ground and floor construction stage. When transitioning to the ground and floor construction stage, the buildings are surrounded by open spaces, the working surface is wide, there are many construction personnel, and various sub-projects often operate in a cross manner. Therefore, all safety precautions and quality requirements must be taken into account. For this reason, the system should set multiple monitoring priorities and conduct key monitoring on the key contents. Monitoring of high-altitude work. Due to the characteristics of high-altitude work, multiple monitoring contents can be set, such as the setting of safety nets in buildings, the protection of the edge facing the workers during construction, obstacles around tower crane construction, the installation and use of tower crane hoist baskets, the protection of the feeding inlet of the hoist platform and the floor discharge platform, the installation and operation of tower cranes and mixers, etc.

Front-end section: The front-end mainly consists of wireless cameras, wireless transmission clients (remote end), as well as the lightning protection, installation brackets and infrastructure of the entire front-end system.

Transmission part: The wireless digital video surveillance transmission system consists of a digital microwave client (remote station), wide-band wireless antenna, and an integrated wireless device. It uses both 5G as the main transmission link and 2.4G for wireless coverage. By using different antennas, multiple functions can be integrated in one device, reducing the probability of equipment failure.

Central Monitoring Room Section: The monitoring room is the control center, image display center, and image recording center of the entire system. The monitoring room can provide comprehensive, clear, operable, recordable, and replayable real-time on-site images to the commanding personnel at a high level. At the same time, the monitoring room can also achieve a linkage effect with the superior management departments through the public network, allowing managers and company leaders to understand the real-time situation of the site in their own offices immediately, providing real-time information for understanding the actual situation on the site and conducting command and dispatch.

As shown in the above figure, a monitoring center serves as the receiving point for wireless monitoring. Three wireless links are established based on this. On this basis, the wireless cameras around the perimeter wall can be connected to the wireless hotspots. The monitoring ball cameras on the tower cranes use a separate wireless link to transmit the monitoring images to the monitoring center.
